Boost trade show traffic by distributing printed backpacks to booth visitors

One of the best ways to stand out from fellow exhibitors at a trade show is to distribute promotional products to booth visitors. In a 1991 study conducted by Exhibit Surveys Inc., an exhibitor sent invitations to trade show registrants encouraging them to visit the exhibitor's booth. Some of the invitations stated that the registrant would receive a gift if they did so whilst other invitations did not mention a gift. The study found that response rates were greatest for registrants who received the invitation to receive a gift by visiting the booth. Distributing good quality printed backpacks to customers is an effective means of fostering goodwill

A Baylor University study conducted in 1992 found that customer goodwill was effectively fostered by giving customers promotional products. A textbook publisher and its salespeople were viewed most positively by customers who received a thank-you letter and a calculator, followed by customers who received the letter and a highlighter pen. The least goodwill was expressed by customers who received only the letter. The results of this study suggest that companies can increase customer goodwill by giving customers good quality promotional products. Printed backpacks are such products. A printed back pack is unlikely to be thrown away by a recipient because it can be used repeatedly and it will last many years. A recipient will also appreciate the fact that a printed back pack is a high quality item, which fosters greater goodwill than distributing lower quality items (for instance branded pencils). Printed back packs are therefore a prudent promotional product for encouraging goodwill.

Highlight new products, services or facilities by utilising printed backpacks for maximum brand exposure

No matter how fantastic a company's new product, facility or service is it won't help if no one knows about it, which is where printed backpacks come in. For example a newly opened gym may offer printed backpacks to customers who sign up for a one-month membership. Each printed backpack may have the gym's name and website on it and whenever those customers use their printed back packs they will expose the gym's brand to a wide range of demographics depending on the situations in which the printed back packs are used, such as within the office, at university or in the supermarket. Printed backpacks offer a company maximum return on their investment because they offer such wide-reaching brand exposure.

Useful printed backpacks are retained by recipients, thereby resulting in extended brand exposure

A survey study conducted by Promotional Products Association International within Dallas Fort Worth International Airport found that of respondents who had received a promotional product within the past year, 75.4% of them kept the product because it was useful. This research supports the notion that an effective promotional product is one that is useful. Printed backpacks are incredibly useful promotional products that can be utilised by a range of demographics including children, adults, women and men. Printed backpacks are also useful in a wide range of situations including going on holiday, carrying groceries, carrying gym clothing, transporting university textbooks, etc. Since printed backpacks are useful, recipients are unlikely to throw them away and may actually keep them for many years, which means an extended period of brand exposure. If recipients don't have use for printed back packs themselves they may give them to others, resulting in pass-along exposure for the brand.
